Finalists for the Young Professional Leader Award have been announced
Three area young professionals have been selected as finalists for the Marion Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professional Leader Award. The finalists are (in alphabetic order):

• David Lawler
• Cam McCurdy
• Jason Powell

Members of the Marion Chamber of Commerce were asked to submit nominations in November for the Young Professional Leader Award. Nominations were sought for individuals who demonstrate excellence and initiative in their business or profession and are under the age of 40. The Young Professional Leader Award finalists and winner were selected by the Marion Chamber of Commerce Awards Committee.

The winner of the Young Professional Leader Award will be announced during the 98th annual Marion Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet & Auction on Friday, January 18 at The Pavilion. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Tickets to attend are $60/person or $400/table (seats 8) and are available by calling the Marion Chamber of Commerce at 618.997.6311, visiting marionillinois.com or emailing director@marionillinois.com.

Finalists for the Distinguished Business Award have been announced
Three area businesses have been selected as finalists for the Marion Chamber of Commerce’s Distinguished Business Award. The finalists are (in alphabetic order):

• Centerstone
• Clarida & Ziegler Engineering Company
• Golden Eagle Distributing, LLC

Members of the Marion Chamber of Commerce were asked to submit nominations in November for the Distinguished Business Award. Nominations were sought for Chamber member businesses that have made significant contributions to the community. The Distinguished Business Award finalists and winner were selected by the members of the Marion Chamber of Commerce Awards Committee.

This Month's Topic: Designing for Growth with special guest Glenn Clarida
Glenn Clarida will be sharing his experiences and leadership lessons as a consulting engineer for the city of Marion - a career spanning over 50 years. Glenn has been an integral leader and chief designer of Marion’s transformational change to support commercial, residential, recreational, and transportation growth. Glenn founded Clarida Engineering Company in 1965 and continues consulting today on projects for the now Clarida & Ziegler Engineering Co.
