Marion Community Day held on June 29
Marion Community Day at Rent One Park was held on Friday, June 29. The Southern Illinois Miners faced off against the Gateway Grizzlies.
Ribbon Cutting held at Fowler's Shooting Range

Rides Mass Transit District breaks ground on area's new park-and-ride facility
Rides Mass Transit District officially broke ground on the area's new park-and-ride transit facility June 28.
June Lunch & Learn held at Heartland Regional Medical Center
The June Lunch & Learn was held on June 27 from noon - 1 p.m. at Heartland Regional Medical Center, Classroom 1. The topic was "Business Born from Passion" with Josh Benitone & Jared Gravatt, entrepreneurs & owners of Crown Brew Coffee.
Ribbon Cutting and Open House held for RTS Sports
RTS Sports hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House on Tuesday, June 19 from 4-6 p.m. at 702 North Carbon, Suite A, Marion. The event included food, refreshments, raffles, River Radio Live Remote, St. Louis Cardinals ticket giveaway and networking.
Marion Chamber of Commerce by-laws change
The Executive Board of Directors of the Marion Chamber of Commerce recently reviewed the Chamber's by-laws and proposed a change to the by-laws.
Copies of the proposed new by-laws are available at the Chamber office or by email at email@example.com. Members may comment on the Amendments until July 2 at noon and those comments will be given to the Board of Directors at the July 3 meeting.
The Board of Directors will review and act on the proposed by-laws during the July Board of Directors meeting set for July 3 at 8 a.m. at Heartland Regional Medical Center, Classroom 1.
Welcome Mindy Reid to the Marion Chamber Executive Board
The Marion Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Mindy Reid with Banterra Bank to the Chamber’s Executive Board. Mindy has served on the Marion Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors since 2016.

Southern Illinois Energy Efficiency Lunch & Learn was held on Wednesday, June 13 at Construction & Workforce Development Building at John A. Logan College and presented by the Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program and partnering Chambers of Commerce from southern Illinois.
June Membership Luncheon held
The Marion Chamber of Commerce Monthly Membership Luncheon was held on Tuesday, June 12 at The Pavilion. Lunch service began at 11:45 a.m.
The speakers were 2018 John A. Logan Two-Year Tuition Waiver Winner Karlee Webb and Senator Dale Fowler for Southern Illinois Made Expo.
Small's was the caterer. The menu included meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, lettuce salad, and ooey gooey butter cake.
Integrated Health of Southern Illinois was the sponsor of the June Monthly Membership Luncheon.

Attorney General Candidate Presentation: Erika Harold held on June 11
The Marion Chamber of Commerce Legislative Affairs Committee hosted an Attorney General Candidate Presentation with Erika Harold on Monday, June 11 at 10 a.m. at the Scout Cabin, 519 Parish Avenue in Ashley Park in Marion. The event was open to members of the Marion Chamber of Commerce. There was no charge to attend.
Grand Re-opening & Ribbon Cutting held for McDonalds (DeYoung)
A Grand Re-opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on Thursday, June 7, starting at 11 a.m. for McDonalds, 2603 West Deyoung Street, Marion. The event included an 11 a.m. flag raising and ribbon cutting ceremony and a tour of the new interior, specials on food, introduction of the "experience of the future" with new kiosks, giveaways on the hour and freebies to those in attendance.
Live2Lead: Southern Illinois Early Bird Tickets on sale NOW through July 31
Live2Lead will be presented in Southern Illinois on Friday, November 2 at The Pavilion. The exclusive video-on-demand and live leadership training event will be hosted by Marion Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored by Heartland Regional Medical Center and the City of Marion. Doors open at 7:30 am for registration. Live2Lead begins at 8:30 am and concludes at 3:30 pm.
4th annual Marion Chamber Legislative Summit set for August 24
The 4th annual Marion Chamber of Commerce Legislative Summit will be held on Friday, August 24 at 11 a.m. at Kokopelli Clubhouse.
