The Noon Rotary Club of Marion IL recently donated $1,000 to the Marion Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Grad Spree program.

The Marion Friends For Life Graduation Spree, held on the night of graduation, is a drug-free and alcohol-free environment for the graduating seniors and their guests. The cost to provide this event in May 2016 was more than $6,000 with the average cost being more than $30 per student.

“The Noon Rotary Club of Marion wanted to support Grad Spree because of the great success of the program,” said Scott Phelps, past president of the Noon Rotary Club of Marion. “Grad Spree creates a safe environment for the youth of our community on a milestone evening in their lives.”

Marion Grad Spree would not be possible without the help of our Chamber and community members. Throughout the year, the Chamber requests donations of funds to help cover the cost of the event and door prize items to giveaway to seniors throughout the night.

The Marion Chamber of Commerce Grad Spree Committee is proud to offer this event to our graduating seniors,” said Dalus Ben Avi, executive director of the Marion Chamber of Commerce. “We have kept our seniors safe for more than 30 years.”

Every Thursday at noon,  The Noon Rotary Club of Marion IL meet in the basement of the United Methodist Church at 208 West Main Street in Marion, IL for lunch.
