The Marion Chamber of Commerce Foundation sponsors Grad Spree, which was started more than 30 years ago to help insure that graduation is the beginning of a new life, not the end of one.

The Marion Chamber of Commerce Foundation provides a night of fun-filled activities at The HUB and SI Bowl Family Fun Center, following graduation ceremonies. Graduates (and their guest if they invite one) meet at The HUB between 10 and 10:30 p.m. After several hours of fun at The HUB, participants are bussed to SI Bowl Family Fun Center where they can enjoy unlimited bowling until 4:30 a.m. Participants are then bussed back to The HUB where they will be dismissed from Grad Spree.

All activities will be in a drug- and alcohol-free environment. Participants are prohibited from leaving the activities. If a graduate must leave early, a written notice must be turned in to the Marion Chamber of Commerce office prior to May 4 and include the time they will be leaving and the name of the parent or legal guardian who will be picking up the student. We are not responsible if the student signs up and does not attend.

Registration Forms and the Rules of Grad Spree were distributed to graduates at the high school. If a graduate needs a form and/or a copy of the rules, they may get those at the high school office or Marion Chamber office or online at www.marionillinois.com. Because each senior will receive a T-shirt, registration forms are due by April 22. If a graduate returns the form after April 22, they are not guaranteed the t-shirt size they requested. The final deadline to register for Grad Spree is May 9.

Marion’s 2016 Grad Spree is FREE TO ALL SENIORS and only $10 for one guest. We are expecting more than 300 seniors and their guests, plus more than 30 adult volunteers to attend the event this year. The cost of this event is covered by direct donations and dollars raised at various Marion Chamber of Commerce fundraisers.

As part of our annual drive to raise funds for this events, we are requesting donations and door prizes to cover the cost of the event. Any item you can donate will help make this a memorable evening for the seniors. The event costs more than $40 per student. Please consider sponsoring a student or two! We feel this is one of the most important events that the Marion Chamber of Commerce Foundation has ever sponsored as it can actually save a life. We are asking you to help us make that difference.
