The new airline terminal will eliminate the operational and maintenance deficiencies of the existing facility that was constructed in 1972. Key to this will be the separation of passenger flow functions into arrival and departure areas, along with a centralized security checkpoint and hold room. The new airline terminal will feature:
  • Realigned and improved roadways and parking
  • Curbside canopy system for protected loading and unloading
  • Integrated airline and TSA operational areas
  • Modern passenger waiting areas with additional space to accommodate large charter groups and public events
  • Restroom facilities within the hold room
  • More direct access from rental car offices to ready rental parking spaces
  • Modern baggage carousel system
  • ADA accessible 2nd floor Airport Administrative offices and Operations Center
  • More efficient and sustainable building energy systems
  • The ability to expand to meet future growth demans
Phase 1 of construction will include all site work including roadways and parking, the steel structure and completing the exterior of the building. Estimated completion time is 14 months. Project cost is approximately $8 million with $5.5 million eligible through FAA AIP funds, and $2.5 million through Airport funds.
