The new, state-of-the-art facility will be over 18,000 square feet. The multi-million dollar construction project represents the Ike Family’s commitment to the communities of Southern Illinois as well as to the Volkswagen Brand. It is expected that the new facility will employ at least 30 Southern Illinoisans.
The new facility will sit east of Ike Honda. Access to the new facility will be available by Heartland Drive. Through a joint effort with the City of Marion, Heartland Drive will be extended to Bainbridge Trail. The extension of this roadway will allow access from two stoplights on Route 13 -- Pentecost Drive and Bainbridge Trail (Heartland Regional Medical Center).
“Since opening our temporary Volkswagen facility in February, the response has been phenomenal. We have already sold over 100 Volkswagens! Our service business has shattered our initial expectations. On a regular basis, we have customers travel 2 to 3 hours to service their Volkswagen at our dealership. In fact, we are in the process of hiring our fourth VW technician already,” said Ashlee Church, Director of Operations.
“Customers also love the fact that we are family-owned and operated,” said Lori Eigenrauch Sisulak, Dealer Principal. The Ike Family of Dealerships was founded by Edward “Ike” Eigenrauch. Ike began selling cars in 1964 and recently celebrated 50 years in the automotive industry. The VW Dealership is owned by Ike’s three children: Lori Eigenrauch Sisulak, Brian Eigenrauch, and Jason Eigenrauch. The Ike Family spans three generations with more than 125 years of combined automotive experience.
Volkwagen of Marion will continue to operate in their temporary facility until construction of the new building is complete. The temporary facility is located at 8100 Express Drive, Marion, IL 62959.
