SO IL Coalition for Homeless Dodgeball Tournament

The Southern Illinois Coalition for the Homeless has partnered with The Hub in Marion to host this amazing fundraser!

Your contribution will help provide affordable housing and supportive services to the homeless and the near homeless. It will also help work with other groups and individuals to eliminate the causes of homelessness in the southern 24 counties of Illinois.

We are looking for teams of six and/or sponsors and volunteers for the event. If you are interested, please contact me today! Sponsorships and team space are limited!

National “Run as One” 5K to be Hosted at Marion VA Medical Center

Nothing raises awareness like having multiple Veteran Organizations come together across the nation to work in unison.  The Marion VA Medical Center will be hosting Southern Illinois’ second annual “Run as One” 5K to help raise awareness for PTSD and Veteran suicide.

This will be the second year in a row the Marion VA will host Veteran organizations: Team Red, White and Blue; Team Rubicon and The Mission Continues.

Last year, the event attracted over 200 participants and is expected to grow. Bring the whole family to show support for our Veterans and join us for some fun at this FREE 5k run/walk on Saturday, April 16 at 10am at the Marion VA Medical Center.

Master Gardner’s to Offer Free Advice

The Williamson County Master Gardener’s will be set up in front of Rural King in Marion on Saturday, April 16 from 10 am until 2 pm. They will be there to answer any horticulture questions the public may have to get their garden, lawn, or landscape ready for spring and summer. Spring Mock Job Fair at USP Marion

We would like to take this opportunity to invite your business or organization to participate in the “Gateway to Success," a mock job fair on Thursday, April 21, 2016.  We will start the day at 8:00 a.m. in the visiting room at the Federal Prison Camp.  At 11:00 a.m., we will go inside the Federal Correctional Institution (USP) for lunch and will proceed to the Education Department.  We will wrap-up the day around 3:00 p.m.  There is no cost for participating in the mock job fair and lunch will be provided by the institution.
