Oil Painting Class
Nationally known artist, Dave Powell, will be teaching a four hour class on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Little Egypt Arts Centre on the downtown square in Marion. Class begins at 10:00AM and lasts until 2:00 PM and is open to everyone.
Cost is $40.00 for members, $55.00 for non members. Students may register by calling LEAA (618 998
8530) and leaving their name, phone number and email address or registering in person at the art gallery at
601 Tower Square in Marion. Please call before making a trip to the gallery to be sure a docent is on duty.
Payment is due before the beginning of the class.
Dave’s work reflects his western art heritage. The son of artist parents and living in the area of Charlie
Russell’s famous western settings, it is no surprise that the subjects of his work are cowboys, horses,
western scenery, Indians and the west of long ago. Look him up online to see examples of his style.
We will be painting a western landscape. Bring a 16 x 20 canvas, oil or acrylic paints(Dave will be using
oils), brushes and any painting supplies that you normally use.
There will be a docent at the gallery at 9:30 on November 29 to accept payments and help students get set
up.
This is a unique opportunity to paint with an accomplished artist and share his views of the west.
