First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust is pleased to continue the tradition of supporting local organizations through an annual cooking event, Chef Clash In The Arena, at the SIU Arena Saturday, June 4th. The original event, 100 Men Who Cook, began six years ago and this will be the 7th year raising funds helping many nonprofit organizations.

First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust is pleased to continue the tradition of supporting local organizations through an annual cooking event, Chef Clash In The Arena, at the SIU Arena Saturday, June 4th. The original event, 100 Men Who Cook, began six years ago and this will be the 7th year raising funds helping many nonprofit organizations.
We are proud to announce that St. Francis Care and Gum Drops will be the beneficiaries of this year’s event. St. Francis Care operates a facility, supported by volunteers and donations, which provides animals with shelter, care and rehabilitation until they can be adopted. Gum Drops is a non-profit charity that provides a weekend backpack of child-friendly food to enhance the quality of life for at-risk children throughout Southern Illinois.
Over the course of the last six years, this annual event has raised over $253,000 to benefit the Boys and Girls Club, Kiwanis Clubs of Carbondale and Marion, Rotary Clubs of Carbondale, Carterville and Marion, the SIH Foundation and This Able Veteran.
This annual event has become a tremendous team effort, executed and supported not only by our First Mid-Illinois associates, but also by non-profit organizations, business leaders and community members coming together for a common cause.
