The Marion Chamber of Commerce Legislative Affairs Committee would like to invite you to attend Paul Simon Public Policy Institute's Event: The State of the American Worker Lecture Series with Jeff Mays, Director of the Illinois Department of Employment Security, on February 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the SIU Saluki Stadium Club.

A member of Governor Rauner’s cabinet, Jeff Mays has extensive experience working in state and federal government and is an advocate of education and workforce development in Illinois. Mays is a former, five-term Illinois state legislator who represented West-Central Illinois (R-96th District; 1981-1990). As President of the Illinois Business Roundtable, an association of corporate business leaders, Mays made recommendations on Illinois’ policy issues. Mays also served as Vice President of Human Resources and as Executive Vice President of the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce. 

Please RSVP to the Marion Chamber office by Friday, February 19 at 4:30 p.m. if you wish to sit with the Marion Chamber of Commerce members / Legislative Affairs Committee members. You do NOT have to be a member of the Legislative Affairs Committee to join us at this event. If you wish to ride with the Legislative Affairs Committee Co-Chair Hayden Gardiner, please let the Chamber know prior to Monday, February 22.
