The Marion Chamber of Commerce has reserved a table at the event. If you would like to sit at the Marion Chamber of Commerce table, seats are $15, payable to the Marion Chamber.

One Region, One Vision: A Case Study From Iowa’s Creative Corridor

Join us for the Community Leaders’ Breakfast

Have breakfast with Amanda West to learn about the creative approach she led to develop the regional identity for the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area. She’ll dive into the good, bad and unexpected of how they got started, fostered a more collaborative culture, and found success building a common vision across their seven county urban and rural region.

Guest Speaker: Amanda West
West is CEO of Seed Here Studio, a creative agency building innovation ecosystems in unexpected places. Her work uses media, events and programs as levers to foster more collaborative regions.

Based in Iowa, she has co-founded 10+ community building initiatives including a coworking space, a startup accelerator, a social entrepreneur incubator, and many events, festivals and programs, including Iowa’s 1000-person entrepreneur conference, EntreFEST. From 2012-2014, Amanda designed and led the implementation of a new regional brand, Iowa’s Creative Corridor, for the seven county area surrounding Iowa City and Cedar Rapids.

Amanda earned her degree in economics at the University of Iowa. While in college she co-founded a student engagement program called The 10,000 Hours Show that was acquired and expanded by United Way Worldwide. After college, she worked with creative class expert Richard Florida and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation to support mid-size cities using creative community building efforts to foster more economic development. Today, Amanda works around the nation supporting emerging innovation ecosystems with global thought leaders including Steve Case and Paul Allen
