We are neighbors, community leaders, and global citizens uniting for the common good. We are especially dedicated to ending polio in our lifetimes. Rotary members have persevered in this fight since 1979 and have now helped eradicate polio in all but three countries worldwide. Our Club: Rotary of Marion, Illinois was chartered on April 7, 1923 and currently meets every Thursday at Noon at the United Methodist Church on Main Street in Marion, Illinois. We fundraise each year to fund student scholarships and awards, to donate to local service organizations, such as The Night Shield, GumDrops, local youth sports teams, Rotary Youth Exchange and other local service organizations. We also raise funds to support our own service projects such as the building of Marion Rotary Amphitheater, as well as to contribute funding to Rotary International to support their efforts to eradicate polio and provide safe drinking water to citizens across the globe.

Interact:  Interact is a club for youth ages 12-18 who want to connect with others in their community or school. Interact club members have fun while carrying out service projects and learning about the world. Our club is a sponsor to the Interact Club at Marion High School.
Rotary Scholastic Achievement Awards  The Rotary Club of Marion started awarding scholastic achievements honors for Marion High School students in 1930. Selection is made by vote of the faculty on a fifty-fifty basis of scholarship and school activities. A Gold key is given to the outstanding boy or girl in each class for first place and a Silver key for second place, plus Silver Pins for the next eight in each class.
Scholarships:  Marion Rotary Club Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is an Illinois not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation started by the Rotary Club of Marion in 1996 to award and administer scholarships to deserving graduates of the Marion High School. There are ten scholarship trusts set-up by benefactors from the Marion area which enables the Foundation to award more scholarships for longer periods of time.
Service Projects:   Rotarians also volunteer their time towards service organizations and service projects in their community. Club members have volunteered for Gum Drops,  are responsible to clean up a mile of roadway on South Market Street in Marion, and are in the upcoming year to make improvements to the Marion Rotary Amphitheater.  The building of the Marion Rotary Amphitheater was the Centennial service project for our club.
Membership:  Marion Rotary Club is always looking for new members. Feel free to contact any of the Rotarians at the race today or come and visit a meeting any Thursday at Noon at the United Methodist Church, 208 West Main Street, Marion, Illinois.
