Marion, IL – October 16, 2014 In honor of International Credit Union Day, SIU Credit Union is inviting members and the community to enjoy cookies and punch at each location, and
with the assistance of WPSD Local 6, SIU Credit Union is hosting a super shredder event at the Marion branch. The event allows individuals to bring up to 50 pounds of personal
documents to be shred for free. The event takes place on Thursday, October 16 from 10
a.m. – 5 p.m. Shredding services are provided by DataLock.

Examples of items that can be brought for shredding:
• Credit Union / Bank Statements and Old Checks
• Medical & Insurance Forms
• Anything with your Social Security number on it
• Retired Tax Forms (over 3 years old)
• Credit Card Statements
Since 1948, International Credit Union Day has been celebrated annually on the third
Thursday of October. Each year, the international event affords the opportunity to
remember credit unions’ proud history and promote awareness of and support for the
credit union difference. Credit unions all over the world are a united front focused on you,
the members, with an unwavering belief in the “people helping people” philosophy upon
